Dangerous bacteria in ” Wudy ” sausages , AKU: Go urgently to a doctor if you eat Wudy
AKU found that Wudy sausages are contaminated with a dangerous bacteria and is holding Frigo Food owner Sokol Meqemeja responsible.
The National Food Authority has issued a warning regarding the detection of a dangerous bacteria in Wudy sausages sold in Albania, urging citizens not to consume such products and to return them to supermarkets if purchased.
But what if they have already eaten them?
In this case, the National Food Authority advises citizens to urgently consult a doctor for a check-up. Why all this alarm, what is it about? According to AKU, the issue is the “Listeria monocytogenes” bacteria, which, if ingested, can cause a series of serious health problems for the human body.
AKU emphasizes that everything happened following a notification from the European Union’s RASFF system regarding food safety. “Referring to the notification received from the RASFF system (Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed) after laboratory analyzes carried out in Italy, the presence of Listeria monocytogenes STI55 has been detected, posing a serious health risk to the product and human health. The National Food Authority is taking immediate action, through official controls on food business operators, to identify, block and withdraw the product from the market, following the notification received from RASFF. Consumers beware! Do not consume these products, return them to the sellers from whom you have purchased them,” AKU warns.
In a response today, FrigoFood owner Sokol Meqemeja ate a Wudy sausage live and claimed that the products were safe, but did not provide any explanation for the alarm issued by AKU and whether he is responsible for what Albanian citizens have consumed./Gazeta Jone
